- Farenheit 9/11 - One of the most controversial and provocative films of the year, Fahrenheit 9/11 is Academy Award-winning filmmaker Michael Moore's searing examination of the Bush administration's actions in the wake of the tragic events of 9/11. With his characteristic humor and dogged commitment to uncovering the facts, Moore considers the presidency of George W. Bush and where it has led us. He looks at how - and why - Bush and his inner circle avoided pursuing the Saudi connection to 9/11, despite the fact that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis and Saudi money had funded Al Qaeda. Fahrenheit 9/11 shows us a nation kept in constant fear by FBI alerts and lulled into accepting a piece of legislation, the USA Patriot Act, that infringes on basic civil rights. It is in this atmosphere of confusion, suspicion and dread that the Bush Administration makes its headlong rush towards war in Iraq - and Fahrenheit 9/11 takes us inside that war to tell the stories we haven't heard, illustrating the awful human cost to U.S. soldiers and their families. ---- (source - http://www.fahrenheit911.com/)
- Sicko - riter/producer Michael Moore interviews Americans who have been denied treatment by our health care insurance companies -- companies who sacrifice essential health services in order to maximize profits. The consequences for the individual subscribers range from bankruptcy to the unnecessary deaths of loved ones.Moore then looks at universal free health care systems in Canada, France, Britain, and Cuba, debunking all the fears (lower quality of care, poorer compensation for doctors, big-government bureaucracy) that have been used to dissuade Americans from establishing such a system here. The roots of those health care systems are explored, and our failure to establish free health here care is traced to a) President Richard Nixon's deceptive support of the then-emerging HMOs pursuing huge profits and b) subsequent pressures for Congress to sacrifice sound health care in favor of corporate profit.A group of Americans who became ill from volunteering at 911 Ground Zero, but were refused health coverage for their illnesses, are ferried by Moore to Cuba, where they receive the top-rate, free care one would hope they'd get here at home.In his interviews, historical reportage, and typical sarcastic wit, Moore soundly condemns American health insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, as well as the politicians who have been paid millions to do their bidding. He makes the case that there is something wrong with Americans that we cannot learn from the successes of other countries in providing better quality-of-health than we enjoy in the USA. - Loose Change - Loose Change (2005, 2006, 2007) is a series of documentary films written and directed by Dylan Avery, produced by Korey Rowe and Jason Bermas and distributed by MercuryMedia International. The films assert that the September 11, 2001 attacks were planned and conducted by elements within the United States government, and base the claims on perceived anomalies in the historical record of the attacks. The first film, Loose Change, was originally released through the creators' own company, Louder Than Words, and received widespread attention after Loose Change 2nd Edition was featured on a Binghamton, New York local FOX affiliate, WICZ-TV (FOX 40).[1]
The film's main claims are considered false by many media outlets,[2] independent researchers,[3][4] and prominent members of the scientific and engineering community.[5]
The original film was edited and re-released as Loose Change: 2nd Edition, and then subsequently re-edited again for the 2nd Edition Recut, each time to tighten the focus on certain key areas and to remove what the filmmakers have learned to be inaccuracies and copyrighted material. Loose Change: Final Cut, deemed "the third and final release of this documentary series"[6] was released on DVD and Web-streaming format on November 11, 2007.[7] This installment is a completely new film; using almost none of the same content appearing in the previous Loose Change versions. (source - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loose_Change_(video)) - Zeitgeist - Welcome to the Official Site for 'Zeitgeist, the Movie' (2007) & its sequel'Zeitgeist: Addendum' (2008). Since the emergence of the project in late June, 2007,many other websites, organizations and posts have fallaciously claimed connectionsto the works. Please note that these two productions are our only media expressions.Likewise, Zeitgeistmovie.com and its developing activist site: TheZeitgeistMovement.comare the only web entities we have produced.
'Zeitgeist, The Movie' and 'Zeitgeist: Addendum' were created as Not-for-Profit expressionsto communicate what the author felt were highly important social understandings whichmost humans are generally not aware of. The first film focuses on suppressedhistorical & modern information about currently dominant social institutions, whilealso exploring what could be in store for humanity if the power structures at large continuetheir patterns of self-interest, corruption, and consolidation.
The second film, Zeitgeist: Addendum, attempts to locate the root causesof this pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution. This solution is notbased on politics, morality, laws, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, but rather on a modern, non-superstitious based understanding of what we areand how we align with nature, to which we are a part. The work advocatesa new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influencedby the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project. Fabled Enemies by Jason Bermas is the latest film to question the events of September 11th 2001. Instead of the focus being on physical anomolies surrounding the attacks, it focuses on a vast intelligence network and how they were able to succeed almost 7 years ago.It begins with footage from the morning itself reminding everyone that in the court of public opinion Osama Bin laden was convicted on day 1, there were no other suspects. We then delve into the fact that many of the alleged hijackers were trained at U.S. military facilities, and still others had ties to the FBI. When others within the FBI tried to go after Bin Laden, and his financial supporters there investigations were impeded and shut down.Able Danger the Black Ops program that identified the hijackers prior to 9/11 had also tried to move the information tot he FBI, but the FBI still was not interested for some reason. Anthony Shaffer who headed up this team later met with Phillip Zelikow, the Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission, to try and pass this information along after the fact. It was then covered up, not included in the report, and Shaffer and his team were gagged and slandered. The film then explores the mystery of those who were detained on the morning of September 11th. Several vans were stopped that morning containg Israeli citizens, who either seemed to have prior knowledge of the attacks, or had explosives in their vehicle. When investigators started looking into this network it was revealed they did indeed have a classified role in 9/11, and that two companies within the United States may have been helping them gain their intel. This network's existence is then confirmed by whistle blower Sybyl Edmonds, who came across a international spy ring containing Turks, Israelis, and member's of Pakistani Intelligence. The Pakistani operation was headed by General Mahmoud Ahmed, who had financial ties to the hijackers, and diplomatic ties to the upper echelons of Washington. After two seperate government investigations into 9/11 you would think that the public would be satisfied with their efforts and conclusions. However we show you how both the Congressional Report and the 9/11 Commission Report were a whitewash and a scam to begin with, and how it was used to manipulate the public into believeing the issue had been dealt with and thouroghly explained. In reality there were many warnings prior to 9/11, and the US government seemed to be listening, because in the months leading up to 9/11 it had been running drills of hijacked aircraft being flown into buildings. Then on the morning of 9/11 itself drills mirroring the attacks were taking place at the same time as the "real" hijackings happened.Air Force One and the White House were also reported to have been targets that day, and further evidence presented in the film suggests that there were indeed many other targets that morning, and that our leaders were very aware of this. This information then fell into the memory hole, never to be discussed in a meaningful way again.Another fact that has fallen below the radar is that the Continuity of Government program or "Shadow Government" was put into power on the morning of 9/11. This program was revamped in the early 80's by none other than George Herbert Walker Bush, the presidents father. It should also come as no surprise that operational centers that carried many of those in charge of the COG program were already in the air that morning as part of the Global Gaurdian exercise that was taking place.World Trade Center building 7 is then put under the microscope as it was New York City's number one spookhouse and operational center. It not only contained the Office of Emergency Management which all local government was supposed to flock to in the case of such an emergency, but also the largest Secret Service office in the world, the largest CIA base outside of Virginia, and scores of other agencies such as the SEC, the DOD, and the IRS. We take you inside 7 with emergency worker Barry Jennings account of multiple explosions inside the building before either tower had fell. The case of the anthrax attacks is also explored. Several letters reading "9-11 01" "Death to America" and "Death to Israel" were mailed to members of the media and congress in a successful attempt to strike more fear into the population, while blaming radical Muslims. The anthrax was then analyzed, and despite efforts to cover it up, it was highly weaponized and refined, and was made in one U.S. military facility at Ft. Detrick Maryland. All of this and much, much more is discussed in the new film, and we hope that you support our efforts here at Infowars by getting the DVD and making numerous copies and handing them out to others.

The Kingfisher 5 a side story.....
Records are meant to be broken. This time too we broke the record ( for goals conceded that is). For us its always Murphy's law that is applicable ( maybe i sound like a loser)........we were busy warming up before the match....thinking that our opponents will not turn up....A couple of guys were coolly sitting near the ground we were supposed to play our match....just before the match we got to know that they are our opponents.....our average age was 30 and our opponents were 21. The Game started and we put up a fight in the first half ( lost our miniscule stamina) and in the second half we were like non existent on the field.....we let in goals every 2 minutes and broke our previous record ( 6-1) now became (9-1).......never have been so embrassed in my life.....i remember in my school days I was in the team......we lost 7-2 to St Xaviers....
The second match in the Kingfisher open was a much better performance from us......we drew the match 1-1....it was a performance worth watching.....hats off to everybody who played like their lives depended on the match.....Lets hope that we play in the next tournament and play the second maych first....lol...

In Pursuit of Happiness
A contradictory topic ( love these, gives my ego a huge boost....makes me think that am exercising my intellectual capabilities). What is happiness? What are we in pursuit for? I remember those childhood days when we were happy. I used to have a small cup in which I would have tea, that meant so much to me.......wow I have my own cup and every morning I used to look forward to it......the day had such a nice beginning. Then as we grew up the definition of being happy changed.....my first football boots...I was over the moon. Then came the next phase ( the start of the bad phases lol).....college, where happiness started to take a different meaning....it became more materialistic ( that hasnt left me till date, wonder when will it)....
One evening when i was coming back from tuition, I used to have fountain pepsi ( a craze which had started those days).....A little girl on the street carrying her brother was begging on the street....she was looking at me amazed....I called her, bought her pepsi.....I saw her eyes shining, she was so happy.....till date I havent been able to come up with an answer to describe the look on her face....Why cant I be happy like her? Probably because I have got more from life....probably being happy is relative.....One thing is for sure "In Pursuit of Happiness" if we stop being happy with small things.......we might never be happy again.......

Is Happiness Measured????
For a long time have been thinking about this. Its like everybody has a happiness account attached to their name.Once the person has reached the allocated level ( dunno who determines that level) all that happens is towards lowering the happiness level. Everything would have been going fine, giving no indication that one has finshed the overall quota that has been allocated....suddenly things take a turn for the worst......if everything had been going fine for a long time then suddenly what ever starts happening is for the worst......as if to bring the happiness levels down....like there cannot be overdraft (even banks allow overdraft...lol)...anyways everybody has to deal with it...guess its called "LIFE".....

Kingfisher 5 a side
Early in July we played the Sportz Village 5 a side coporate soccer tournament. The group games were a battle ( an understatement) :)....anyways we scraped through as group runners. We went to the pre - quarter finals ( term we coined ourselves, sounds as if we were almost there in the quarter finals)....hehehehe....and then reality struck a huge jolt....all of us were brought back to the ground, we lost the so called pre - quarter finals 6-1. Just like the serial on Travel and Living we were completely "Overhauled". The rude awakening was there, the preparation was awesome with all new boots, guards ( to protect an over increasing surface area) but the performance where it mattered most was lacking.
Now its September an even bigger challenge awaits....the Kingfisher 5 a side tournament. We have been practising on almost every Saturday ( after the July disaster). It seems that we have improved a lot, made some changes.....lets see what happens. This time the preparation doesnt matter the performance does.....

The Most Important Visit
This time when i was in Kolkata, I became a member of SLOBA ( St Lawrence Old Boys Association). The only worthwhile thing I did ( meeting my friends was different)....On 17th of August couple of ex-lawrencians (sgc, arjun, abhisek, amit, sidartha & of course me) all of us went to school just to be nostalgic. The credit for getting all these lazy bones together on a sunday morning goes to me and only me ( they will kill me next time i go to kolkata)......we walked down the road , talking about our teachers the 10 or 12 years we spent in school...
but can't forget the saddest part, our school did not allow ex-lawrencians to play in the field in which we played for 10 years.....the excuse "we are maintaining the ground"....outsiders not allowed...and ex-lawrencians kept in the same bracket as "outsiders". This is probably the work of people who have never been associated with St Lawrence before. Playing...whether it be cricket, football, or anything runs in our blood....and not letting us play on a sunday that too when the group of ex-lawrencians had a school team captain and a school team player was an "ultimate insult"....was so happy when i entered school but all that was ruined by a couple of people thinking to be the guardians of the school.....a picture to show the football grounds where we used to spend most of our time :)
